Until 2050 the world population is expected to rise by almost 50 percent. To feed the planet, food production must increase dramatically. A team of FAZ will report on two villages - in a developed and an underdeveloped country respectively - on their race to increase production. They aim to bring the two worlds together in dialogue with each other and with their readers. They will frame the reporting on these two villages in a series of stories about agricultural development, scientific progress in food production, food price speculation, land grabbing and development projects.
